This beautiful but very loud bird spent most of its day with about five others of its kind outside my window. I finally went outside to see what the fuss was all about. I thought they were incredible birds, but I tend to have difficulty identifying birds. The closest I could come was the Western Kingbird, but the Tropical Kingbird and Cassin's Kingbird are very similar. If anyone knows the right ID I would love to hear about it.Friday, August 1, 2008

I thought they were incredible birds, but I tend to have difficulty identifying birds. I'd guess, Western. I've seen them around here, too.
One had a nest in our barn.
