Since today is flag day I had an easy time of taking pictures. I just went outside and photographed our flag against the beautiful New Mexico sky.
This small yellow flower came up in the yard all by itself. I guess I mean it was the only one of its kind - Thomas must have planted it along with other stuff - but it is the only sunflower looking flower in the yard. I am hoping there are others since I think it is a great little flower.
I thought this little bird had the cutest little bird legs. He kind of looks bow-legged. You can check the Birds of the Southwest link to see if you can find out what kind of bird he is.
This little bird was just standing there staring. It made me think that he was At Attention waiting for orders. Again - I'm not sure what kind of bird - but here is the link to Birds of the Southwest.
This cute little bird was hanging out in the yard today. I was able to get a nice picture when he decided to stop and rest on our wall. I don't have the time (or energy -with my eye) to look up what kind of bird. But here is a link to Birds of the Southwest.
Well my four poppy pods opened and I have this photo of four beautiful oriental poppies. I look forward to every summer so I can watch these flowers come to life.
This picture kind of reminds me of Georgia O'Keeffe's Red Poppy painting. I liked the composition and the way the photo came out.
